Res Denim Trends

Stripes, Leather and Leopard

Some trends come and go, while some trends enter a fashion hall of fame and the trend becomes a classic. Leopard, stripes and leather are among the ones that have made it to said status. While I am not sure when stripes joined the team, I can totally picture Wilma and Betty from Flinstone age rocking leather and leopard print. (Can't you??)

Anywho, whether it's Cavalli or Dolce and Gabbana you can always trust to see leather, stripes and leopard walking down the runway, in any given season. One of the lines we carry here at Launch Fashion Management is Res Denim and what Res has thankfully made this season are afforadable denim in all three prints (among many more)! They just have a little modern, skinny jean twist to help them adapt to todays market..obviously....so watch out for them in stores right now!

Style Profile: Georgie Wheeler

Meet Georgie! The creative force behind the fashion line OneOneSeven

How did you fall into designing clothes?
I did an art and design course when I was 16 and all my mates were doing fashion. I basically chose fashion over fine art so I could sit next to my friends in class and then I ended up doing an honours degree and then a masters degree and then I had to keep on going with it, otherwise it would be a wasted education!!

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Being creative, working independently, working with inspiring people, being able to look at colours, prints, clothes and pretty stuff all day... learning about who my customers are and what they like.

Who are your favourite designers?
Eley kishimoto, Bernard Wilhelm, Sass and Bide, Romance was born and Holly Fulton.

What do you like to do on the weekends?
I love to run, bush walk, swim, ocean canoeing , drink booze, sunbathe, picnics, barbeques, usual stuff, vintage market shopping. I like cooking.

Favorite accessory?
My fluro yellow ring at the moment.  I bought it in Melbourne. It cheers up any outfit. Wish I had bought the pink one and the green one too now since I wear it nearly every day!

What is one thing you cannot live without?
Chilli and salt on food. Mesh bras from american apparel or calvin klein. comme de garcon perfume. fresh flowers. oh sorry thats 5 things.

Favourite city to shop in?
TOKYO!!!!!

Do you have any advice for those who are trying to become fashion designers?
You need to love it and take it seriously and you need to love being a hands on type of person and not mind getting your hands dirty. MOST OF THE TIME ITS NOT GLAMOUROUS AT ALL!  ha ha. ...But it is super fun and you do get to travel and do heaps of fun stuff  - you just have to be prepared to work hard for it.
